Detectives from the Matilda's Corner Police Station are in search of a still-at-large suspect responsible for the shooting death of a taxi operator on Canberra Crescent, Kingston 6, last Monday.

The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Dominique Dean, otherwise called Shane, of August Town, St Andrew.

The police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reports that on June 6, about 7 p.m., Canberra Crescent residents summoned the police after hearing explosions. Subsequently, Dean's body was found slumped over the steering wheel of the taxicab. The police took him to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A motive is yet to be established for the attack. Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the assailant(s) is being asked to contact the Matilda's Corner police at 927-8219, the police 119 number, or the nearest police station.
