Two persons killed after gunmen invade community

Five persons were shot, two fatally, after gunmen invaded a section of Brown's Lane, Central Village, St Catherine, last night.

The St Catherine South police report that the men were shot about 9 p.m. while in the community.

Reports are that residents of Brown's Lane heard explosions and checks later revealed that five men were shot and injured.

They were brought to receive medical attention but two succumbed to their injuries.

The names of the dead men were not available up to press time.

The others are in hospital nursing gunshot wounds.

When THE STAR visited the area, residents would not comment on the shooting.

The police have since increased their presence in the community.
