![]() Mark Pryce Leighton Levy, Star Writer Mark Pryce, the brother of iconic dancehall entertainer Bounty Killer, faces a maximum of three years' imprisonment in a St Kitts prison if found guilty of stealing a mobile phone at the RLB International Airport on that island on Saturday. The entertainer's brother faces a charge of larceny of a cell phone, and his fate will hang on what the judge decides in the Magistrate's Court in Basseterre, St Kitts, where he will appear today. Police in St Kitts said the severity of the punishment will be at the discretion of the judge, and that Pryce could face a lesser sanction of a fine. Pryce has been in police custody since Saturday when he was arrested. He was accused of stealing a phone belonging to a customer-service agent who was helping him fill out an immigration form before he was to board a flight from St Kitts to St Maarten en route to Jamaica. He was part of a 10-member entourage that accompanied Bounty Killer to the eastern Caribbean island, where he performed at the St Kitts Music Festival at the Warner Park Cricket Ground on Friday night. It is being alleged that Pryce was at the airport shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday when he swiped the customer-service agent's phone. When the customer-service agent discovered that her phone was missing, she tried calling the number, but the calls went to the voicemail service. She reported the missing phone to the airport security personnel, who checked surveillance footage. It was then that they saw footage of Price taking the phone from the counter as he moved towards the departure lounge. Pryce was confronted by police and the phone retrieved. He was then arrested and charged. The sim card and battery of the phone had already been removed from the phone when law enforcement officials retrieved it, reports said. |
