Fewe Music Group ready to expand music

Curtis Campbell, STAR Writer

Fewe Music Group (FMG), operated by musicians Feco Macey, Robert Barham, Anthony Barham and Robert 'Faada Fresh' Lattibeaudier, has partnered with Sony Music and 'Who?Mag' to improve the marketability of Jamaican music.

According to Feco Macey, the label's CEO, platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Google, among others, will be utilised to extend the reach of the music like never before.

Macey said the quality of the label's new album, coupled with the Sony deal, will see dancehall finally making an impact in the digital era.

"The music world has changed. Artistes used to make their money by selling CDs and touring, but the digital world changed all of that. There are so many opportunities, that dancehall and reggae artistes have not tapped into, that will allow fans to hear their music, not only in the club, but within grocery stores, streaming services, anywhere you can imagine. It's time to bring dancehall and reggae back to the forefront and Fewe Music Group is here to make sure that happens," he said.

Fewe Music Group is slated to release its debut album in early July and has collaborated with a slew of established acts and up-and-coming talents for the project. Some of the acts to be featured on the album include Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Danielle D.I., Merciless, Kalado and Eklypse.

Feco Macey is no stranger to the genre, as he has worked with music personalities such as Computer Paul, Donovan Germain, Handel Tucker and King Jammy's.

His partner, Robert Barham, has been in production for more than two decades and has been nominated twice for Grammy awards.

Robert 'Faada Fresh' Lattibeaudier has penned and produced material for some of dancehall most popular acts including Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Merciless and Danielle D.I.
