Leighton Levy, Star Writer Jamaica's stunning songbird Denyque is looking forward to her next performance on the Pepsi Refresh Tour set for the Front Lawn at Hope Gardens on July 4. Denyque is one of the six emerging stars contracted by Pepsi for its campaign aimed at rewarding its loyal fans with music, prizes, and more than $6 million worth of mobile credit. Based on what occurred at the first show in Portmore earlier this month, the upcoming show is going to be a blast. Great vibe "I am definitely looking forward to the next show at Hope Gardens. I am looking for nothing but amazingness from everybody else, nothing but awesomeness, just vibes, extremely clean vocals, great energy, and fun," she said. As was the case with the first show, Denyque will be performing along with Ikaya, Kalado, Chi Ching Ching, Zagga, and Raine Seville. They will each also be performing at Reggae Sumfest in July. Denyque said the show at the Famous Nightclub was a great opening to the tour and the fans enjoyed the experience. "The first show was really, really good. It was a nice vibe. It was kind of a tough crowd, but people came out and were in full support of all of the artistes," she said. "When you have such talented people, Ikaya, Zagga, Chi Ching Ching, who is like the entertainer of the crew, you put us all together and you get a show with such variation that you must enjoy yourself." It was also a great learning experience for her. "I learnt about the varied types of audiences," she said. "It's such a rush not knowing what kind of vibe you are going to run out on stage to." Courtesy of Pepsi, 1,000 lucky consumers will win free tickets to International Night II at Reggae Sumfest on July 18. They could also get opportunities to perform elsewhere in the world under the Pepsi banner as the brand embarks on its global campaign. |
