Bail extended for man on assault rap

WESTERN BUREAU:

A St James man accused of hitting another in the face with a screwdriver during a confrontation, had his bail extended until July 16 in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Selvin Green, who is charged with assault, pleaded not guilty.

It is alleged that Green grabbed the complainant and hit him in the face with the handle of a screwdriver. It was not disclosed when the attack reportedly took place.

The court was told that the complainant's medical certificate was outstanding. As a result, Resident Magistrate Carolyn Tie deferred the matter to July 16.

"Your fingerprints will be taken today. We need the doctor's certificate, and you are to come back on July 16," RM Tie told Green, as she extended his bail and allowed him to leave the courtroom.
