Former broadcaster Jody-Ann Gray receiving hate messages

Former Kool 97 FM broadcaster Jody-Ann Gray, who was attacked by fellow broadcaster and boyfriend, Wayne Whyte, in 2012, says she has been continuously receiving hate messages.

Gray made the revelation via a post to her Instagram social network account on Friday.

"Good Morning Everyone". Happy Friday". I will be deleting my Instagram account today. Yesterday, (Thursday) I had someone message me "B...h you should a dead" and I get continuous hate messages of that nature," she posted.

Gray says she has gotten a lot of flak from her Instagram followers.

Negativity

"In order to live a wholesome life, sometimes we have to get rid of the negativity and I have gotten a lot of negativity from a lot of Jamaicans who for whatever reason chose to follow me and spew hate. It's always best to choose peace. I cannot continuously have followers disrespect me and my child on my personal page," she said.

Gray, who was seven months pregnant at the time, was shot as she arrived at her home in Portmore, St Catherine.

Minutes after the shooting, Whyte was held near the scene in his car along with two other men.

Whyte and a co-accused Safar Farr were sentenced to 14 years' imprisonment.
