Dancehall city blazing up the streets

The streets are talking about the single, 'Dancehall City', powered by the reggae legend Junior Reid in collaboration with his son, Yung JR and red-hot rookie, Blaw Minott, son of reggae legend, Sugar Minott.

"The single is getting play at all the local street dances; it lock down Hot Mondays and Uptown Mondays this week, mash up Boasy Tuesdays, lock down Wappingz and rounda Kiki. When the song drop, the dancers dem a tek to the dance floorand ah mash up the place," Junior Reid said.

The song, a stirring tribute to the origins of dancehall, also name drops the late great Gerald 'Bogle' Levy and Willie Haggart, two great icons of dancehall culture.

Junior Reid explains the conceptualisation of the single."Blaw Minott came to me with the idea, and he sang his part, and I helped to co-write it, and voiced it for him. He asked a to put out the song, so I just went in full strength and pushed it and featured Yung JR on it as well," he said.
