Semi-finalists in schools table tennis decided

Defending champions Sts Peter & Paul and Mount St Joseph boys and Mount St Joseph and Holy Childhood girls booked the final semi-final spots from group one of the Jamaica Table Tennis Prep Schools' tournament.

Hosts, Sts Peter & Paul blanked Mount St Joseph 5-0 in boys' group one action, while Mt St Joseph clipped Sts Peter & Paul 3-2 in girls.

In group three, St Andrew A blanked Emmanuel 5-0 boys.

Sts Peter & Paul topped group one boys with maximum eight points ahead of Mt St Joseph second on six points to advance ahead of Holy Childhood four points.

Mt St Joseph placed first in group one girls with maximum eight points, with Holy Childhood second on six points. They progressed ahead of Sts Peter & Paul on four points.

St Andrew A finished first in boys' group three with maximum 12 points, with Portmore Missionary second on 10 points.

The competition ends tomorrow with the playing of team semi-finals, team finals and individual events at the Excelsior High School Auditorium, starting at 8:30 a.m.

The six boys' teams and the six girls' teams in the semis will be divided into two group of three.

From round-robin play in each group, the group winners will contest the finals and group runners-up will play off for third place.

The six boys' teams in the semis are Sts Peter & Paul, Hillel, St Andrew A, Mt St Joseph, St Andrew B and Portmore Missionary. And the six girls' teams are Hillel, St Jago, Mt St Joseph, Holy Childhood, Queen's and Portmore Missionary.
