The Area-3 narcotics team yesterday destroyed about 16 acres of fully grown ganja while on an operation in Bagdale Mountain, St Elizabeth, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

At another location in the same area, the police are also reported to have gone to a hut where they found and seized two guns; a 9 mm pistol and a rifle, along with 121 assorted rounds of ammunition and approximately 400 pounds (181.8 kilograms) of compressed ganja.

No arrests were made in connection with the operation.
