'Settle Down', says Timeka Marshall

Timeka Marshall

'Settle Down' is the latest single from reggae singer Timeka Marshall. The song, produced by DJ Xplicit, is featured on the Love Breeze rhythm. Marshall, who has been doing music professionally for the, past eight years, spoke about the song.

"The producer, DJ Xplicit, reached out to me and expressed an interest in having me voice on his project. He later emailed the track and I immediately liked it, so I decided that I would come on board," said Marshall.

She said the song speaks about women being in charge.

"The song has been received well. People love the lyrics. Every woman likes to be in charge, at some point, and every man likes a woman who takes charge, as the catchy chorus sings 'settle down'," said Marshall.

Marshall, who is from Guyana, travels to Jamaica regularly. She has worked with producers such as Tony Kelly, Christopher Birch, Kurt Riley, Donovan Germaine and Craig Leftside' Parks, among others.

"My musical journey is, as it states, a journey in itself. There has been ups and downs, exhilarating moments, and moments of despair but, just as in life, you keep on pressing on, pursuing your goals, and reaching for what makes you happiest," Marshall said.

Her better-known songs include All Night, produced by Stephen McGregor, Hush (produced by Shane Brown on the 'Indiscretions' rhythm) and Feel Fah, featuring Busy Signal, among others.
