Advantage Clarks Town

Davian Williams scored twice to lead Clarks Town FC to a 3-0 win over Spicey Hill in Sunday's Trelawny FA Monymusk Plantation Rum Major League first-leg semi-final at the Elliston Wakeland Centre in Falmouth.

Victory leaves them just 90 minutes away from landing a spot in the final, where they will take on Harmony FC or Coopers Pen, who ended their first-leg semi-final at a goal apiece.

Andre Palmer fired Coopers Pen into the lead in the 45th minute, but his good work was undone when an own goal brought Harmony FC back into the contest. Shaunavan McKenzie missed a penalty for Coopers Pen in the 60th minute.

A disappointed Coopers Pen coach, Tafari Ocongo, said his team deserved a victory in spite of the penalty miss, which he thought in the end caused the team the win.

"In a vital game such as this, when you miss a goal scoring chance like the penalty, it will cost you," Ocongo said.

But most of the excitement came in the afternoon's first match, as Clarks Town showed too much class for Spicey Hill.

Williams found the net in the 29th minute of the match, after rain had threatened to put an early end to proceedings and his second in the 85th proved the winner. His teammate Dhane Johnson scored the second in the 69th.

The only blemish on Clarks Town big win was a red card for Odaine Peart in the 88th minute for serious foul play. The return leg semis will also be played at the same venue on June 14 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
