Hologram Shadow all the way

Jimmie, STAR Writer

LORNE KIRLEW's HOLOGRAM SHADOW should win his first overnight allowance race tomorrow, running a mile with claiming apprentice Sadiki Blake at 50.0 kilos.

The six-year-old gelding packs good backstretch pace which saw him winning at the distance, clocking 1:39.3 in March among $550,000 claimers.

Claimed from Patrick Lynch by Kirlew that afternoon, HOLOGRAM SHADOW returned to overnight allowance where he was caught and beaten by EDISON at 1500 metres on May 2. Two weeks later, he chased home another Riachard Azan winner, BORDER LINE, finishing third, behind second-place JANIBOUTICE, at 1000 metres straight.

Those were two strong performances by HOLOGRAM SHADOW as the form has since been twice franked in overnight allowance races.

TIME FOR ARMS, who had passed the post third behind EDISON and HOLOGRAM SHADOW, returned in his next race, May 23, to beat MILITARY MOVE at 1820 metres.

JANIBOUTICE, second behind BORDER LINE, returned a week later, on Saturday, and was awarded the 1000-metre round ninth race in the stewards' room after being impeded by down-in-class RIO COBRE.

Returning with 50 kilos, HOLOGRAM SHADOW has no matching speed to contend with in the seven-horse field. He had PRINCESS SHINE, MILITARY MOVE and ROYAL VIBES behind when finishing second to EDISON while carrying 51.0 kilos.

ZACKONTHEATTACK and BOLD AVIATOR are making their overnight allowance debuts. BIGBROWNGREYHOPE has been campaigning at this level since New Year's Day, but has failed to find the pace of the class as he has consistently been beaten by the likes of MILITARY MOVE.
