Man charged for wounding woman

A man accused of breaking a window, which, in turn, wounded a woman, had his bail extended when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Charged with malicious destruction of property and unlawful wounding is Dwayne Frazer, who pleaded guilty to both offences.

The Crown led evidence that on the day of the incident, the accused man and the female complainant were involved in a dispute. Soon after, things reportedly turned physical when Frazer slammed the complainant's bedroom glass window, causing it to break. It is believed that the splinters from the window inflicted wounds.

"I want to fix it from mi a come a court, but it's like she want mi live a jail fi a window," Frazer told Resident Magistrate Maxine Ellis.

The accused man further explained that the complainant allegedly spat through the window while making disparaging remarks, which angered him.

The sitting magistrate ordered the accused to return to court on June 16, pending a mention hearing. A fingerprint order was also made against him.
