Horace Fisher, Star Writer

The Clarendon Police division yesterday recorded its 45th murder following the gun slaying of 34-year-old Sheldon Stewart in Mocho, Clarendon.

According to police report, Stewart was shot and killed just after 8 a.m. yesterday at his home in the Green Park district of the community by unknown assailant(s), who fired several shots killing him on the spot, before escaping in a grey Toyota Corolla motor car.

"It's early days yet but from preliminary investigation the deceased was at his place of abode when four men with guns alighted from a grey Toyota Corolla motor car and ordered a group of men, who were affecting repairs to the deceased house, to get on the ground before opening fire on Stewart," an investigator said.

The Clarendon police are investigating.
