POPCAAN BLASTS JINX

Popcaan

Says TV personality should leave Bolt alone.

Dancehall artiste Popcaan has come out in defence of Jamaican Olympian Usain Bolt after Jodi 'Jinx' Stewart-Henriques referred to the sprinter as a 'horrible neighbour'.

Recently, Jinx, the wife of dancehall artiste Sean Paul, took to social media platform Facebook where she blasted Bolt for being a bad neighbour. They both reside in an upscale community, but Jinx said the sprinter is not a nice neighbour.

"Between the bikes ..., loud, horrid music, parties and screams, I honestly wish he would go back to where he came from. He's a horrible neighbour. I cannot wait to move," Jinx posted.

But her comments have not gone down well with the public, many of whom have referred to her as classist.

Popcaan also voiced his displeasure on Instagram on the weekend. "Jinx leave Usain alone and move yo .... Ya gwaan like you born uptown. A people like unu nuh waa see ghetto youth have nothing. Big up Usain loud up the scheme wid the bike a[nd] the girl them some more and make some ... dead," Popcaan posted.

However, the post was later removed. Although the post was later removed, it was just one of many posts made on social media on the weekend after the story broke.

"Interesting article from @jamaicastar about what Sean Paul's wife Jinx said about Bolt ... when people vex they show who they are #classist," one person said on Twitter.

Another person commented saying, "I hate loud music in my neighbourhood. However, I would handle my displeasure smartly.#Jinx/Bolt"

There were also persons who defended Bolt on Facebook, including one woman who claimed to be his neighbour. In a post that has been making the rounds on social media, the woman said, "Bolt is actually my neighbour, not hers... And what she has said about parties, etc. isn't true either. He has parties (very occasionally ... maybe once or twice per year. As do I, as do the neighbours across the street)."

The woman also said there are also other persons in the neighbourhood with dirt bikes and Bolt wasn't the first to use them in the area.

Since the incident and the public uproar, Jinx had made both her Twitter and Instagram previously public pages private.
