Cops name quadruple murder suspects

The St Elizabeth police are now on the hunt for two men they believe are responsible for Wednesday night's quadruple murder in the usually quiet district of Claremont, near New Market, St Elizabeth.

The suspects have been named as Anward Anthony Hinds, otherwise called Kirky, or Kirk Hinds, and Denham Campbell, also known as Popsie.

The police said the gunmen struck during a power outage and attacked patrons at a shop in Claremont killing the four people.

The victims have been identified as 73-year-old farmer and shopkeeper Ezra Wright; another farmer, 60-year-old Archibald Brown, his brother 58-year-old George Brown; and 50-year-old farmer, Morris Sanderson.

The head of operation for the St Elizabeth police, Deputy Superintendent Paul Bernard, said with Wednesday night's quadruple killings in Claremont, Anward Anthony Hinds and Denham Campbell are now linked to seven of the nine murders in St Elizabeth since the start of the year.

He said the suspects are breakaways from the St James-based Stone Crusher gang.
