Gordon, Eubanks US Junior College champions

Former Holmwood Technical quarter-miler, Chrisann Gordon and former Edwin Allen High outstanding middle and long distance athlete, Marleena Eubanks, registered wins at last weekend's National Junior College Athletics Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson.

Gordon, who has represented Jamaica at two International Association of Athletics Federations World Junior Championships, was in terrific form for South Plains Junior College.

In her final year, Gordon raced to an impresssive 51.74 seconds to win the women's 400 metres.

Competing in her first season for Central Arizona College, Eubanks had a first- and second-place finish in two individual events.

She first stopped the clock at 2:08.74 to take the win in the women's 800m, then returned to finish second in the 1500m.

Former Calabar High jumper, Demar Robinson, and former Edwin Allen thrower, Fabeon Tucker, also had top-three finishes at the meet.

Competing for Cloud County College, Robinson was second in the men's high jump, soaring to 2.13m. He was third in the triple jump with 15.28m.

Competing for Monroe College, Turner finished third in the men's discus throw with 47.20m.
