A man was taken into custody in connection with the killing of another along Barnett Lane in St James last Sunday morning.

The deceased man was identified as 34-year-old labourer Fernando Young, otherwise called 'Fernie', of Spring Mount in St James.

According to reports, about 10:15 a.m., Young, upon taking his motor car to a garage along Barnett Lane for repairs, was approached by a man armed with a gun who shot him several times.

Young reportedly died on the spot.

Subsequently, lawmen were summoned to the scene. Following timely investigations, a suspect was taken into custody for questioning. It remains unclear whether any charges have been laid against the suspect.
