LIME Futsal moves into quarter-final stage

Kevin Wilson, manager of Clarendon LIME Futsal champion, Pump House FC, says home support will be a major factor when they go into the round of 16 play-offs and possible quarter-finals set for the Jamalco Sport Complex this Sunday.

The parish competitions ended last weekend and a draw to determine who face who in the play-offs took place at Cuddy'z Sports Bar on Wednesday.

Pump House drew St Thomas champion Bath Sport Club and Wilson says with the support they have behind them at home, they expect nothing less than victory.

"It will be in our home town and the support will be there, so we are very confident and we know we will come out victorious. The crowd support will be a big factor and the quality players are there, so we know we have the potential," he said.

Red Army of Manchester got the wild card pick by virtue of their parish champion being selected first in the draw, they will take on the only repeating parish winner, St Andrew's Denver Crescent.

The other round of 16 games will see Aaron Strikers (Manchester) playing Grass Roots (St Mary), T-Square (Trelawny) tackle Orange Villa (Kingston), Young Madrid (Pmore) face Grange Hill Alliance (Westmoreland), Riders (St Ann) take on Cali FC (St James), Medley Mixers (St Catherine) entertain Gego FC (St Elizabeth), Copperwood Farms (Hanover) go up against Reggaeland Football Academy (Portland) and Denver Crescent (St Andrew) oppose wild card entry, Red Army from Manchester.

For the play-offs, the six-foul rule comes into effect, which means that if a team commit six fouls in one half, any foul they commit thereafter will result in a penalty kick for the other team.

Team will have the option of replacing any two players from their parish team with new players.

Any card picked up during the parish tournaments will be wiped clean for the national championship.
