Woman on wounding charge gets bail extension

Bjorn Burke, Staff Reporter

An enraged woman accused of attacking a man, later wounding him, had her bail extended when she appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Charged with unlawful wounding is Tanesha Allen, who pleaded "guilty with explanation" to the offence.

The Crown led evidence that the accused woman and the male complainant reportedly had a dispute that quickly became physical. It is believed that Allen attacked the complainant with bottles and a knife. It is said that the complainant received cuts to his fingers during the alleged attack. It is unclear what the dispute between the accused and the complainant was about.

In court, Allen had her bail extended by Resident Magistrate Simone Wolfe-Reece. She was ordered to return to court on May 26, pending sentencing. A fingerprint order was also made against her.
