Fab Five headlines Linkage Productions ball

The US-based Linkage Productions captivated the city of Mount Vernon in Westchester County on Sunday with the Mother's Day Awards and Ball in 'The Mansion'.

The event was well attended by residents ofthe five boroughs, who were delighted by this year's classy upgrade of an event normally known for hosting an annual awards show for disc jockeys and recording artistes.

"This year's 'spin off' was the epitome of class," an elated Dexter 'DJ Linkage' Blake, organiser of the event, said.

Popular band Fab Five headlined the event and thoroughly entertained theaudience - the young, old and young-at-heart - who danced to a medley of popular reggae and soca hitssuch asShaving Cream, Jamaican Woman, Good Buddy and Ring Road.

The evening's awards and performances showcased a myriad of artistes, including Pablo Bentley who with his selection Jah Jah spurred the patrons into an 'irie vibe' while Press Fyah warmed the hearts of mothers as he hand to them.

DJ Linkage served as the host of the event. Awards were presented to:Sophia Brown forOutstanding Achievement in Music;Sybil Nevers-Gordon forMother of the Year;Brother Gary forOutstanding Achievement in Radio Broadcasting;Press Fyah forBreakthrough Artiste of the Year.Flourgon was given aLifetime Achievement Award andFabulous Five received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution in Music.
