Former Jamaica Under-19 fast bowler Romeo Dunca guided Eltham CC to a two-run win over Bartley XI in Zone One of the St Catherine CA/Energy Partners Tournament at Prison Oval.

The left-arm seamer, a standout at Eltham High during their recent five-year dominance of urban area Grace Shield cricket, claimed six for 70 to restrict Barthley XI to 208 off 36 overs.

This was against André Bryce, who top-scored for the losers with 80. Eltham, in reply, on the back of 60 from Kenneil Taylor, got to 209 for eight off 38 overs. Bryce, with three for 48, ended as Barthley's XI top bowler.

The other Zone One showdown between Basement and Dela Vega at Bybrook Oval was not played due to an underprepared pitch.

Dela Vega awarded points and a score of 150 without loss.

In Zone Two, Innswood Old Boys, led by leg-spinner Jermaine Bennett, pulled off a one-wicket win over Ken's Wildflower at Bridgeport Sports Club.

Bennett, a member of Innswood High's double-winning urban area Grace Shield team, bagged five for 23 as Ken's were bowled out for 118 off 25 overs.

He was supported by Mario Davis, four for 46, against Glen Wellington, who got 28.

Innswood, in response, scraped over the line at 119 for nine off 27 overs.

Kemar Foster, 29, and retired Jamaica wicketkeeper Keith Hibbert, 28, were the leading scorers for the victors.

Oshane Wilson, four for 44, and Delroy Morgan, three for 37, ended with the most wickets.

Another match-up in the zone saw Ewarton gaining a walkover against Kitson Town, who failed to show up for their contest at home.

Elsewhere, Angels defeated Guys Hill by five wickets at Dela Vega Community Centre.
