Champions Peppes Eleven started their campaign on a winning note in the Shahine Robinson/Genevor Dian Gordon Bailey-sponsored Lime Hall Community FA League, when they edged newcomers Unity Strikers 2-1 before a large and enthusiastic crowd at the Lime Hall Oval last Sunday.

Peppes Eleven broke away smartly and opened the lead in the 28th through a Demitri Rose strike.

Delgado Sharpe made it 2-0 for the victors in the 64th minute, scoring from point-blank range; but as the game progressed, Delgado Sharpe pulled back one for Unity Strikers in the 58th minute.

In the feature encounter, a late penalty from Ridge Herrera carried C J Strikers to an exciting 2-2 draw with defending champions Tivoli Strikers.

Howard Bryan sent Tivoli ahead in the seventh minute, and Romario Henry made it 2-0 in the 11th.

Daniel Green got the other goal for C/J Strikers. Twelve teams are participating, and Tivoli and Peppes Eleven are the joint defending champions.

The League will continue on the weekend with two games. Uccasa FC will oppose Lime Hall Masters at 2:00 p.m., while St Ann's Bay Police Youth Club will meet Corner Shop strikers at 4:00 pm.
