The strength of St James and Westmoreland football will be on show as two former winners of the Western Confederation Super League clash over two legs of the much-anticipated finals, set for May 12 and 16.

This was made possible as Wadadah FC eliminated fancied Sandals Whitehouse 2-0 on Tuesday for a 3-1 aggregate win.

In Wednesday's other return leg semi-final, Savannah SC made light work of the talented Granville FC in a 2-0 victory, that sent them to the title decider 2-0 on aggregate.

The well-drilled Granville played to their strength, which was tight in defence and speed up the flanks to keep Savannah at bay especially in the first half, dominated by the home team at Jarrett Park.

Opening goal

Expectation rose threefold in the second half as it appeared Savannah were pushing for the breakthrough, which finally came as Ron Daley kept his composure to score the opening goal in the 67th minute.

The second was put home in the 89th minute by Neville Graham.

Daley, who had injured his shoulder last week, was told by doctors that he would miss these important matches before anything could be done to rectify the problem played with his arm strapped, and Quarrie believes his choice to make himself available to play was a massive boost to the team,

"That was something special, and it lifted the players and showed me what courage he has," said Quarrie.

Daley is the leading goal scorer this season in the Charley's JB Rum Super League, hitting the target 17 times.

"We are one step closer to the Premier League and I am sure that Wadadah is also looking at this way, but I am confident we can get the better of them," reasoned Quarrie.
