|||||
![]() Kevin Downswell With tomorrow being Mother's Day, the Celebration Church in Portmore will put mothers at the forefront at Gospel Explosion: I Remember Mama PT 2. Last year, the event was held as a charity event for the children's arm of the church. There were performances from the likes of Kevin Downswell, Pastor Michael Carter and Garfield Reid. "It was great, it was awesome," said Camille 'Sandy' Coke, organiser of the show. This year, however, mothers will be the focal point, as patrons are entertained by persons such as Kevin Downswell, Ryan Mark, Michael Carter, Omari, Kimona Brown, and others. "This year, we expect a better year. Mothers will get a token and complimentary drink on entry. It will be the icing on the cake," she said, noting that the event will be held at Celebration Church, Block 1E, Skating Ring, Portmore Mall, St Catherine. "It is just a one way of honouring mothers. Mommy is special, so we have to honour her." Being held in aid of the music ministry at Celebration Church, Coke said the event costs $1,700 presold and $2,000 at the gate. - Sadeke Brooks |
