Dancehall artiste Mikeylous is pleased with the public's response to his single titled 'Get Ahead'. The single, which was produced and released by the Canada-based record label, Star Track, is enjoying heavy rotation both locally and overseas.

"My song is creating a big buzz all over the world. It's getting a lot of love in the UK, Canada and the US. It's also getting a lot of airplay in Jamaica, and it's playing at the dances and the clubs," he said.

While Mikeylous feels good about the success of the single, he is worried that some people do not fully understand the message of the song.

"I think some people do not understand what I mean when I say mi haffi get ahead. I'm dealing with progress and prosperity when I say mi haffi get ahead. Ambition is my motto, I do music to uplift the people, not to put them down," said the artiste.

The video for Get Ahead is also doing well. It is currently enjoying strong rotation on a number popular local cable and TV shows island-wide.

"My video is getting a lot support. Everywhere I go, people are saying that they love it. It's also getting a lot of hits on YouTube," said Mikeylous.

Mikeylous has been busy in the studios working on a number of projects for various producers.

"I'm working on some new songs. Summer is just around the corner and I plan to drop a couple new tracks this summer. I have to be in the mix for the summer," he said.
