![]() Nashinal Portmore-based label Warrior Chief Productions has signed up-and-coming dancehall artiste Nashinal. The label, headed by champion race horse jockey Dane Nelson, is operated by Nelson's wife Tanisha. Nashinal is the son of veteran 1980s deejay Johnny P, who scored a number of hits during his heyday, including Bike Back, Look Good (which hit the Billboard charts in 1993), Young and She Green (featuring singer Thriller U), Jump and Spread Out, Fight Fi Old Bruk, and Expensive and Dear. Nashinal is creating waves with his latest single Muss Get Better. The song chronicles the struggles of the less fortunate. The emotional song which speaks about hardships and the determination to make lives better was produced by Warrior Chief Productions. Nashinal revealed the inspiration behind the song. "The song is inspired by the hard life and struggles that I see every day," he said. The 23-year-old deejay grew up in the Gordon Pen area of Spanish Town. Born Jahmeel Morgan, he said his interest in music developed while in high school. "It was while I was attending Eltham Park High school that the music thing really began to sink in. I recorded my first song Bun Weh Fi Bun for producer King Nefty, when I was 14," he explained. Some of his recordings include Clean Fi Di Summer (Magnola Muzik), Hunt Fah (One House Productions) and All of a Sudden (K20 Records). He describes his musical journey as a growing process. "For the amount of years mi a try, it still is a building process. So far the feedback from the streets has been very good on Muss Get Better. We plan on doing a video soon to help with the promotion," he said. |
