Javon Francis produced one of the most memorable legs in Jamaican 4x400m history when he pulled Jamaica to a silver-medal finish at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow.

The gifted athlete is promising something just as special here.

Francis received the baton in fifth place in Moscow, but produced a blistering 44.00-second anchor leg to hold on for the silver medal, catapulting himself into local mile relay folklore and raising hopes about the country's future in the event.

It's a night that he still thinks about, and one that keeps him motivated to keep working hard.

The Akan Track Club man, who missed last year's World Relays because of injury, is looking forward to competition here, and is hoping that his team will be able to test the USA and The Bahamas, particularly after last year's baton-dropping disappointment.

"I'm pretty excited to go out there. It's a wonderful pleasure to me to be here," said Francis.

"I still think about that night in Moscow, and I'm going to see if I can produce something just as special or even better than that here for our fans."

Francis, who represented Jamaica in their third-place finish in the 4x400m at last week's Penn Relays, believes the team is capable of testing the USA - Bahamas duopoly.

"It's going to be difficult to beat The Bahamas and the USA because these guys have pretty good teams, but our team is still young but determined and focused. We are going to do our best," said Francis.
