Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association's Western Conference U-14 basketball champions Cornwall College continue to find the going tough in pursuit of back-to-back crowns with their second loss in three matches - the latest coming in a low-scoring encounter against Holland High.

Cornwall, on four points, looked a shadow of themselves, falling 16-18 in a scrappy affair. Holland moved up the six-team standings, joining Cornwall on 4 points.

Shavon Wallace was Holland's key man, scoring seven points to nullify the efforts of Cornwall's Jowayne Jones, who scored 13 of his team's 16 points.

Elsewhere, table topping Herbert Morrison Technical (6 points), hold a perfect record after three rounds, including a hard fought 47-45 victory over rivals Muschett High (4 points).

Herbert Morrison led from the first quarter, 13-12 and led 32-18 at half-time; but strong second half from Muschett made it a much closer encounter that was previously anticipated behind Donjay Pearson's 19 points. Clyton Rankin chipped-in with a ten point effort and Michael Tomlinson added 7 points.

Their individual efforts were cancelled out by the collective aspirations of the Herbert Morrison clan, as Raheem Barrett led with 13 points. He had help from Timothy Minott and Alex Lake who both added 8 pts each.

The next set of matches are scheduled for Monday, at which time champions Cornwall College will try to steady their progress with a win over Green Pond High. Holland play Muschett.

The full standings after three rounds are: Herbert Morrison 6 points, Spot Valley High 6 points, Holland 4 points, Cornwall College 4 points, Muschett High 4pts, and Green Pond 3 points.
