Simpson eager for World Relays

Happy again, competing again; experienced Jamaican sprinter Sherone Simpson is eager to continue her renaissance at this weekend's IAAF World Relays, where she will renew her love affair with something she holds dear to her heart - the relays.

Simpson, who watched via the Internet as her countrymen and women took on the world at last year's inaugural staging, while she fought a suspension, will represent Jamaica in the 4x200m.The 30 year-old was strong in helping Jamaica to a win in the USA vs the World 4x100m and a second - place finish in the 4x200m at last week's Penn Relays and pushed Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce to the line in the 200m at the recent Utech Classics, posting a strong 22.97 in a battle to the line.

Now working out with Maurice Wilson at the G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport, Simpson says she is extremely pleased with her progress and is excited to once again represent her country on the big stage.

"I am very pleased with how things are going now, there's a lot still to be done training-wise, but coach (Maurice) Wilson and I are just taking this year to get to know each other, for him to know what works for me and stuff that will help, and stuff that hinders me from giving my all in training," said Simpson.

The 2008 Beijing Olympics 100m silver medallist and two- time Olympic relay medal winner noted a special attraction to the relays.

"I do like this format and this meet. There are no individual events, so it's all about the team, and also, its position on the calendar also makes it very attractive,"said Simpson.
