Two to face court for restaurant fight

A mention date of June 9 was set in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday in a case involving a man and woman, who allegedly fought over macaroni and pepper.

Althea English-Ferguson is charged with felonious wounding. Kirk Gordon is charged with malicious destruction of property.

The court heard from Gordon that he went into a restaurant and bought food but did not want macaroni in his meal. He claimed he went outside and removed it before returning to the restaurant for some pepper, which he had been refused by Ferguson.

Gordon told Senior Resident Magistrate (RM) Judith Pusey, "in ignorance mi kick over the stove". He also claimed he was chopped in the face.

However, Ferguson told the magistrate, "nothing like that your honour".

She told RM Pusey Gordon took a stick to her and she defended herself.
