Crowd favourite, the gorgeous Lady Rihanna, duly captured the 2015 staging of Miss Shades Exotic Dancing Queen contest at Shades Nightclub in Content Gardens, Ocho Rios, St Ann, last Saturday night. The multitalented young lady won the hearts of the judges and patrons with her extraordinary performance and showmanship on her way to beating the 13 other contestants, in a show that drew a capacity crowd. The 14 divinely beautiful young ladies, all Shades dancers, modelled, danced, paraded and demonstrated their intellectual dexterity in a stiff contest, well organised and expertly executed, much to the delight of the audience. Lady Spice was first runner-up, ahead of Lady Honey who finished in third position. Lady Rihanna won the main prize of $50,000 along with several other sectional prizes. There were cash prizes of $30,000 and $20,000 for second and third-place finishers, respectively. But while the contestants thrilled the audience, they were nonetheless eager to see guest artiste D'Angel, following her January performance that drew much attention. The dancehall star did not disappoint and gave an extraordinary performance that had the crowd on its feet and calling for more. They got more, with the artiste having to return for several encores, much to their delight. Other good performances came from Mickeylous, Secure, Red Rose, Jamaican James Brown, Optimistic Dancers and Extreme Pushers. Saxophonist Richard Studd had the pleasure of serenading the ladies with romantic melodies. Shades Nightclub owner, Lloyd Cameron, expressed gratitude for the continued support by all concerned and had special commendation for Liquid Nitro that sponsored the event once again this year. "We are looking forward to your continued support," Cameron said. Attention now turns to the next annual event on the Shades calendar, Shades Pon De Beach, which will be held on Sunday, August 2 at Sugar Pot Beach, Rio Nuevo, St Mary. |
