Code Red celebrates 14 at Paggee Beach

Paggee Beach in St Mary is set to come alive tomorrow as patrons get ready to celebrate Code Red's 14 years in the music industry and ZJ Rush's six-year stint with Zip103FM.

It has been evident that since Code Red's inception, the unit has stamped an indelible mark on the music scene and has become one of the leading sound systems in Jamaica. Code Red was founded and is still being operated by CEO Russel Alexander known to fans as ZJ Rush.

While making strides locally and internationally, Code Red has been gaining consistent traction on the mainstream market. The team has performed in many places, including Canada, USA, Africa, UK, Brasil, Japan and the Caribbean.

Code Red was nominated in the Sound System Of the Year category in the Youth View Awards and has won the Fully Loaded title for four consecutive years.

For the past five years, Code Red Anniversary has been a highly anticipated event. This year will be its first staging in Port Maria, St Mary. Patrons can look forward to exhilarating performances from artistes such as Bounty Killer, Dexta Daps and Khago, while on the turntables ZJs Rush, Dymond and Ice will be joining Foody Blacks as well as the Code Red team to bring their high energy to the event.

When quizzed as to what patrons can expect from Code Red Anniversary, ZJ Rush said: "We will be delivering the usual Code Red top-notch experience while keeping the price very affordable for patrons. We will also be offering Magnum drink specials all night, a red carpet, great décor, entertainment and ambience. A sound system needs a celebration party to anchor it's relevance, and also to give back! So come out and party with the Code Red and Zip family."
