Antigua & Barbuda's international goalkeeper Brentton Muhammad said he is anxious to ply his trade in Iceland, after inking a deal with a top football club there.

Muhammad has signed a one-year contract with KF Aegir which campaigns in the Icelandic third-tier.

The 24-year-old, who featured for the Benna Boys in last year's Caribbean Cup, has completed a successful four-day trial with KF Aegir.

"I'm really excited. I'm glad something found its way through," the five-time capped Muhammad said.

"I felt I played well enough at the combine to catch some eyes, but in football sometimes ... you're not always the best fit for every club and people make different decisions. I'm just glad I have the opportunity to prove myself to Aegir now."

Meanwhile, Everton Gonsalves, president of the Antigua & Barbuda Football Association, has welcomed the news, saying it will help boost his country's World Cup campaign.

"I just hope he can move from strength to strength, getting himself in the kind of form that comes with playing time and that he will be in good stead to help us as we commence our World Cup campaign," Gonsalves said.
