Constable on murder charge gets bail extension |

|
The police constable at the centre of a fatal shooting, which was reportedly caught on video, had his bail extended on Monday when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's court. The constable, Kevin Gordon, charged with the murder of Garfield Coburn. He is on $250,000 bail. When the matter was mentioned on Monday, it was revealed that post-mortem report was still outstanding. His bail was extended. On Gordon's last court appearance, it was revealed that the man who was killed was about to stab a policeman causing him to discharge his weapon. The incident occurred on March 6, in view of others in Mahoney district, at a party that was being held without the relevant permit. Stop order A stop order has been placed on Gordon at all ports of entry and exit. he was also ordered to surrender his travel documents. The other policeman charged in the incident, Dane Reid, also appeared before the court yesterday. Constable Reid is also attached to the Lawrence Tavern Police Station. He was charged with giving a false statement to INDECOM, contrary to Section 33 A of the INDECOM Act. Reid's bail was also extended. Both men are to return to court on May 20.
