Man bites, chokes babymother

A man, who bit and choked the mother of his child, was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday and is expected to return today.

McShane Heslop is charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

The Crown alleges that on October 3 last year, about 8 p.m., Heslop assaulted the complainant by putting her in a choke hug and aggressively used his fist to rub her chin and chest causing pain and discomfort. He then allegedly bit her.

It is understood that this altercation between Heslop and the woman developed at her house when he wanted her to come and sleep at his home but she refused.

It is further understood that Heslop has allegedly threatened the complainant before.
