A police sergeant from the St Andrew south division, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy, was offered bail in the sum of $250,000 in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. He is charged with buggery. The sergeant was charged yesterday following a ruling handed by the director of public prosecutions. In court, defence attorney Peter Champagnie told Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey that his client strongly denied the allegations. The magistrate told the policeman that he is not to communicate with the witnesses. He is to return to court on July 22 for a preliminary hearing into the matter. |
