Icon's Entertainment recording artiste Jahshawn shot a video for his latest single, Money Nuff last week. "The videoshoot went well, dancehall fans are going to love the images - lots of girls, flossing and great music," Jahshawn said. Born André Cousins on October 6, 1984 at the Kingston Public Hospital, he grew up in the tough community of Seaview Gardens in Kingston, a community that has raised several dancehall stars, such as Bounty Killer, Shabba Ranks and Elephant Man. He got his inspiration to deejay from his uncle, Mister P, with whom he often spent summer holidays in rural Jamaica. When he left high school, he migrated to the Cayman islands, where his passion for music still burned. He landed a job and worked at honing his craft during his spare time. His first recording, Gideon Buss Now, immediately won him a fan base in the Cayman Islands and he started performing at shows. "My first big show on the island was the Cayman Jazz and Blues show featuring international artistes like Joe, Mariah Carey, and Brian McKnight. At that time I was the only dancehall artist on the show representing for dancehall music," he said. He has since returned to Jamaica to jumpstart his dancehall career. He has worked with Frenz for Real studio in Tower Hill, but now he is on the verge of a major breakthrough after inking a recording deal with Icon's Entertainment. "Icon's Entertainment ah go take my career to the next level," he said.
