Babyfather pleads guilty to assault |

![]() A man accused of assaulting his babymother had his bail extended when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday. Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Ronald Nembhard who pleaded "guilty with explanation" to the offence. Allegations are that on the day of the incident, Nembhard and the complainant, who is his babymother, had a disagreement during which the accused became boisterous. Things took a violent turn when the accused allegedly grabbed the complainant by her neck, and kicked away her legs causing her to fall to the ground. "She hit me," Nembhard began. "She lick me and mi lick her back and then mi hear say she a come with police." "You didn't hit her in the face?" asked Resident Magistrate Maxine Ellis. "Mi never hit her, mi box her," Nembhard replied. Subsequently, the accused had his bail extended by the sitting magistrate. He is scheduled to reappear in court today pending trial.
