GC Foster College to host JADCO seminar

THE G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and sports will be the venue for a Jamaica Anti-doping Commission (JADCO) seminar being organised by final- year students of the institution on Thursday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the college's gymnasium.

This is an opportunity for student athletes, and staff to garner information on a variety of doping related topics including JADCO'S testing programme, athlete rights and responsibility, registered testing pool, the sample collection process, the results management process, contract testing, testing statistics, prohibited list in sport, supplements and the health consequences of doping.

The seminar will focus on the viewpoints of JADCO, the local organising bodies, coaches, athletes who have tested positive, attorneys, a sports manager, and nutritionists.

Minister with responsibility for sport, Natalie Neita-Headley, will make a presentation.

There will be a number of interactive demonstrations including games, massages, blood pressure testing, blood sugar testing, cholesterol testing, BMI projections, and fitness demonstrations.
