![]() Bjorn Burke, Staff Reporter One of two men accused of stealing two cellular phones was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment when they appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Tuesday. Charged with robbery with aggravation are 19-year-old Sanjay McKenzie, otherwise called 'Fatman', and his alleged accomplice, 27-year-old Dane 'Sarge' Williams. They pleaded guilty with explanation and not guilty respectively. The Crown led evidence that the male complainant accompanied by friends were walking along a section of Waltham Park Road, Kingston 11, when the accused men allegedly gave chase to the complainant. The police, acting on information, reportedly went to a premises on Lyndale Avenue, Kingston 20, where both accused men were seen. The devices were recovered. Both men were subsequently arrested and charged. In court, the sitting magistrate ordered Williams remanded pending trial on May 6. McKenzie was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment.
