Nae Nae's 'Slap It Up' sparks debate

Contributed - Nae Nae

Nae Nae is a ghetto sex bomb with attitude. She waxes lyrically about having the sexiest ass in the local music industry on her latest single, 'Slap It Up'.

The song, released in the second week of April, has popped up on several mixtapes, and is generating a lot of debate on social media because of its racy lyrical content.

"The selectors dem love it especially my raw intro, some people a say it is too sexually provocative. on my Instagram, they are saying I am bringing some things to Jamaica that people are not into, some disc jockeys say they are afraid to play it," she said.

Other persons have suggested that it could be banned by the Broadcasting Commission, the local regulatory arm that governs the electronic media, because of its strong oral sex references.

"I am not worried about it, we have a clean version of the song, and the raw one is just for adults," she said.

The deejay, who describes herself as the modern-day Patra, is not modest about extolling her virtues.

"I have the entire package.I can sing, write and deejay. I look better than all the other female artistes and I'm intelligent. I bring controversy and art to the music," she stated.

She is not shy about pushing buttons, as shown by her controversial video, Da Body Ya, where she cavorts in a bathing suit in a river. Born Shanice Graham in Kingston, she grew up in Trelawny and resided in the UK for a short time. Her father gave her the nickname, 'Nae Nae'.
