Flava Unit makes big strides

With their many success, sound system, Flava Uinit has shown Jamaica it has all the ingredients to remain relevant within the entertainment arena.

Making strides since 2004, the sound has excelled, finding a niche that will remain solid for years to come.

The sound celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a massive party and stage show. Entertainers such as Shaggy and Bugle expressed admiration of the sound and its selectors.

Flava Unit ventured into the international market last year and made major breakthroughs. The team visited London, Panama and Costa Rico with mini-tours being negotiated for Canada and the US.

The Arthur Guinness Show, Magnum Follow Your Sound, Lime School Aid, Dream Weekend, and being the resident sound at Famous nightclub are some of the events the sound has work with.

The most recent additions to the selectors, Ricardo 'Popeye' Davis and DJ Deano have enhanced the talented team comprising of the musical mind of Akeel 'Likkle Rich' Harris and the microphone skills of Mathew 'Badda Bling' Mothersill.

"The streets love dem and dem a gwaan good," said owner Desmond 'Dezi' Reid.

Flava Unit's marketing team, spearheaded by Davy 'Tallman' Scott, knows exactly how to exhibit their brand by having their presence felt at some of the biggest and most popular events islandwide.

Scott believes that maintaining professionalism, having good work ethic and respect for various audiences is a major contributor to the many relationships that they have established over the years.
