Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and possession of ganja is 49-year-old labourer Leon Walker of a Sandy Park Road, Kingston 6 address. He pleaded not guilty and guilty, respectively, to the offences.

In court, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered the man to pay a fine of $3,000 or face 30 days' imprisonment on the possession of ganja charge.

Walker had his bail extended and is scheduled to reappear in court on May 5 pending a mention hearing, at which time the other charge is expected to be called up against him.
