Guinness Street Football heads to Portland |

![]() Scenes during Guinnes Street Football. - Contributed The exciting street football challenge, Guinness Street Football, will host its fourth match in Portland on Sunday. To date, three parish champions have emerged after gruelling competition with other parish teams in exhilarating matchups. The total number of participating teams now stands at 224 and the total prize pool is over $3,000,000. According to Andrew Anguin, brand manager, Guinness, the anticipation around the matches has been growing. "We are extremely happy with the support we have gotten from the parish teams and fans of football in general. The anticipation continues to build and we are looking forward to seeing what the Portland teams come out with," Anguin said. The challenge kicked off in Spanish Town where Norman Buckley walked away with the Golden Boot title for scoring the most goals. Monster Shack walked away as champion. Next stop was Westmoreland at Llandilo Sports Complex, where there was tie for the Golden Boot between Tajay Watson of Dread Team and Junior Gayle of Grange Hill Alliance and Smokaz FC was crowned parish champions. Santa Cruz was up next and turned out to be just as eventful. Shavon Samuels took home the Golden Boot scoring a record five goals to aid his team to victory. St Bess Football Club was crowned parish champions. Each parish champion walks with $200,000 in prize money. Sunday's registration begins at 10 a.m. sharp until match time at 2 p.m. The matches will be played until 8 p.m. and the after party continues until midnight. |
