I am 23 and pregnant for a guy who is the same age. He is an American. He came to Jamaica with friends and we got involved. He is a party guy. We met in Negril and we hit it off. He was spending wildly. I asked one of his friends where he got all that money from and he said that his parents were wealthy, so I shouldn't bother myself about that.

Before he left Jamaica, he promised to marry me. When he went up, he called me once and told me that he got home safely, and after that, I couldn't hear from him. One day, I sent him a text and he sent me back a text promising to call me. A girl called me instead and told me to get out of her man's life and, if I didn't, she would come to Jamaica and tear me apart. I told her that I was pregnant by him so she would have to share him. She called me a whore and said I should go and find the child's father. I don't know how he got me pregnant, because he used a condom. I am in trouble because, when I had sex with him, I cheated on my boyfriend. This guy offered me $10,000 and I needed the money, so I had sex with him. I don't know what to do, so please help me. I am three months' pregnant.

You actually sold sex to this man and it was expensive, $10,000. When you were selling sex to this guy, were you thinking of your boyfriend? You said that he used a condom, so evidently the condom was not good. This guy promised to marry you. But I hope that you have learnt that, when a man wants to have sex with a woman he would tell the biggest lie, and that is what he did.

He is not prepared to accept paternity and it is unfortunate that you would not get any more money out of this guy. His girlfriend will not allow it, unless he goes against what she says. He lied to you and I am sure that he is lying to her about what really happened. You would have to tell your boyfriend what happened.

Let us hope that he will forgive you and will help you in preparing for the child. If you don't want to keep the child, give him up for adoption, and stop behaving like a prostitute.
