Dawyne 'Rick' Smith scored a hat-trick to lead Cavalier to a 3-0 whipping of Barbican in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) at Barbican Complex in St Andrew, yesterday.

Smith, who transferred to Cavalier from FC Wangon in the German Division Three, netted for his new club in the 36th, 41st and 45th minutes to hand Cavalier an easy victory.

Cavalier pushed into sixth position on 40 points and maintain a slim hope of making the top four for a semi-final place. On the other hand, Barbican need a miracle to survive relegation following their 15th defeat in 29 RSPL games.

With four rounds remaining, Barbican are rooted at the bottom in the 12-team standing on 24 points. They are seven points behind 10th-place Sporting Central and three adrift of 11th-place Reno.

Arnett Gardens maintained a six point lead in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) following an exciting 3-3 draw against neighbouring Boys' Town at Collie Smith Complex yesterday.

The draw pushed Arnett Gardens to 57 points on match day 29, while Boys' Town remained in ninth position on 34 points. Xavian Virgo gave Boys' Town the lead when he netted a free kick in the 11th minute. Then Arnett went 2-1 up courtesy of goals by Kevin 'Pele' Wilson (44th) and (51st). Andre Dawson (74th) and Rafiek Thomas (78th) also scored for the home team, before the 39 year-old Wilson scored his second goal in the 79th minute.

In another game, Montego Bay United and Waterhouse battled to a 0-0 draw at WesPow Park in St James. Waterhouse stayed second on 51 points ahead of Montego Bay (49) in the race for semi-final spots
