'Blah Daff' Booming!

Raytid

Song a favourite among partygoers

Currently one of the hottest dancehall tracks heading into the Easter holidays, 'Blah Daff', done by recording artiste Raytid, is rapidly becoming a favourite among partygoers and disc jocks alike.

Despite Blah Daff's unofficial release to the public, the single has found its way on to several Serato playlists, CDs and social media networks - spawning a plethora of viral videos featuring females demonstrating the new dance craze created by Dancehall Queen Sher.

Raytid, born Tegana Lloyd Hemmings - a past student of Norman Manley High School and son of veteran entertainer and songwriter Lloyd Hemmings - is pleased, yet surprised at how quickly the song has gained traction.

"I am still surprised at how quickly this song has gained popularity. Maybe it's the infectious beat and easy dance moves associated with it. Even though it's a dancehall song, it fits nicely into the current carnival festivities and may be another reason why so many persons have gravitated to it," he said. Raytid, however, said, despite finding that hit factor, the song would not be doing well if it wasn't for the promotions of his management team. He recently performed at Zip FM's Soca Fête at Pearly Beach, St Ann.

Blah Daff, a collaborative effort between Social Yaad and Jay Crazie records, will be available on iTunes and other digital platforms soon.

Signed to Demarco's True Gift Entertainment, the Kingston 13 native is set to become an industry sensation this year. He aims to make a name for himself since his emergence in 2013 with the singles Wah Dis and Unfair. However, it was the buzz-worthy Forward that got him noticed and thereafter landed him a deal in Demarco's camp.

Right now, I am fully focused on my career. For the rest of this year, the fans can expect to see and hear a lot from me," Raytid said.
