A taxi operator was shot and killed in the Fairview Housing Scheme, St Catherine, yesterday.

He is Robert Pryce, 46, of Friendship Meadows, Frazier's Content, St Catherine.

Reports are that about 4:50 a.m., Pryce was driving a Toyota Corolla motor car. Upon reaching Fairfield Avenue, which is riddled with potholes, his vehicle was pounced upon by his attackers, and he was shot repeatedly. He died on the spot.

The St Catherine North Major Investigation Task Force has since launched an investigation in the matter.
